Warning Devices - Safety Belt Minder Deactivating/Activating Focus 2004.75 (07/2004-)
General Procedures

Preparation

  1. Apply the parking brake.
  1. Place the transmission selector lever in P (Park) - vehicles with automatic transmission or the neutral position - vehicles with manual transmission.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the 0 position.
  1. Close all the vehicle doors from the inside of the vehicle.
  1. Unbuckle the drivers safety belt.

Deactivating/Activating

NOTE:
NOTE:Deactivation of the belt minder may also be carried out using WDS. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to position II. (Do not start the engine).
  1. The safety belt warning indicator will extinguish within 10 seconds.
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Step 3 must be completed within 60 seconds or the procedure must be repeated.
    Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt nine times, ending with the safety belt unbuckled.
  1. The safety belt warning indicator flashes three times to confirm the belt minder status change.
  1. To activate the belt minder, repeat Steps 1 through 3.
  1. After confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.
