Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)

Release Tool. Belt Tensioner

General Equipment
Dowel with a diameter of 5mm
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.
  1. Remove the accessery drive belt. For additional information, refer to Section  303-05A Accessory Drive / 303-05B Accessory Drive.
  1. Lower the vehicle.

4. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s).

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Removal Details

Item 3 : Accessery drive belt tensioner

  1. Using the special tool, detention the accessory drive belt tensioner. Remove the dowel and remove the special tool.

Item 5 : Generator upper front retaining bolt

  1. Raise the vehicle.

Installation Details

Item 8 : Generator lower retaining bolts

  1. Loosely install the generator upper retaining bolts before tightening the generator lower retaining bolts.

Item 5 : Generator upper front retaining bolt

  1. Lower the vehicle.
  1. Tighten the generator upper front retaining bolt.

Item 4 : Generator upper rear retaining bolt

  1. Tighten the generator upper rear retaining bolt.

Item 3 : Accessery drive belt tensioner
  1. Using the special tool reset the accessory drive belt tensioner to the detention position.
    • Rotate the tensioner clockwise.
