The 2.0L Duratec RS engine is based on the 2.0L Zetec-E engine. The main engine modifications are:

• Garret GT2560 turbocharger with electronic boost control. For additional information, refer to Section  303-04I Fuel Charging and Controls / 303-04J Fuel Charging and Controls - Turbocharger.
• Liquid cooled charge air cooler. For additional information, refer to Section  303-03 Engine Cooling.
• Sodium filled exhaust valves.
• Forged alloy pistons.
• Forged piston rods.
• Reinforced engine mounts.
