Removal and Installation

Removal
  1. Remove the battery cover.
    1. Unclip the cover.
    1. Lift off the battery cover.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
    For additional information, refer to: Battery Disconnect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

  1. Disconnect the battery power cables.
    1. Disconnect the auxiliary power cables.
    1. Disconnect the battery power cable.

  1. Remove the battery clamp.
  1. Remove the battery.

Installation

CAUTION:
CAUTION:If installing a new battery, only install the specified battery type.
For additional information, refer to: Specifications (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, Specifications).
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. Initialize the door window motors.
    For additional information, refer to: Door Window Motor Initialization (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, General Procedures).
