Removal
1. NOTE: The exhaust system is of one piece construction for production, and two or three piece construction for service exhaust systems.
It is necessary to cut the production exhaust system to enable the service section to be fitted. Before cutting any part of the exhaust system, make
sure to check the position of the cut is correct in comparison to the service sections to be installed.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Cut the exhaust system.
4. Remove the rear muffler.

Detach the hanger insulator.
Installation
1. Assemble the muffler service sections.
2. CAUTION: The hanger insulators are constructed from a special material. Use only correct specification insulators.
Install the muffler.

Check the hanger insulator for damage and fatigue. Install a new hanger as required.

When installing hanger insulators, use Lubricant meeting Ford specification.
3. Tighten the service clamps.
4. Lower the vehicle.
