Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)

Remover/Installer, Cooling Hose Clamp

303–397 (24–003)

Removal

  1. Drain the cooling system.
    For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding in this section.
  1. Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to Section  414-02 Generator and Regulator.

  1. Using the special tool, disconnect the radiator lower hose from the thermostat housing.

  1. Disconnect the heater hose from the thermostat housing.

  1. Remove the thermostat housing.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The thermostat is installed with the jiggle pin at the top.
    Remove the thermostat.

Installation
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Make sure the rubber seal is located correctly.
