Fusion FWD L4-2.5L Hybrid (2010)
Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting.
2. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding See: Service and Repair.
3. Disconnect the degas bottle-to-radiator hose from the degas bottle.
4. Remove the nut, bolt and position the degas bottle for access to the lower degas bottle hose.

To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
5. Disconnect the lower degas bottle hose and remove the degas bottle.
6. Loosen the 3 coolant pump pulley bolts.
7. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories.
8. Remove the 3 bolts and the coolant pump pulley.

To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
9. NOTICE: Make sure the coolant pump is correctly seated to the engine block before installing and tightening the fasteners, or damage to
the coolant pump may occur.
Remove the 3 bolts and the coolant pump.

Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
10. NOTICE: Early build vehicle (built before July 6, 2009) cooling systems are filled with Motorcraft(R) Premium Gold Engine Coolant.
Late build vehicle (built on or after July 6, 2009) cooling systems are filled with Motorcraft(R) Specialty Green Engine Coolant. Mixing
coolant types degrades the corrosion protection of the coolant. Do not mix coolant types. Failure to follow these instructions may result in
engine or cooling system damage.
NOTICE: Genuine Mazda(R) Extended Life Coolant and Motorcraft(R) Specialty Green Engine Coolant are very sensitive to light. Do
NOT allow these products to be exposed to ANY LIGHT for more than a day or two. Extended light exposure causes these products to
degrade.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine coolant.
11. Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding See: Service and Repair.
