Remover, Drop Arm

1. Remove the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to Section  204-04 Wheels and Tires.

2. Remove the engine undershield.

3. 

   CAUTION:Use an Allen key to prevent the lower arm ball joint from rotating.
   

   CAUTION:Leave the lower arm ball joint retaining nut in place to protect the ball joint stud.
   Loosen the lower arm ball joint retaining nut.

4. 

   CAUTION:Protect the ball joint seal using a soft cloth to prevent damage.
   Using the special tool, detach the lower arm from the lower arm ball joint.
   • Remove and discard the lower arm ball joint retaining nut.

5. Remove the lower arm.

   WARNING:Install a new lower arm ball joint retaining nut. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
   To Install, reverse the removal procedure.
