Removal and Installation

Removal

CAUTION:
CAUTION:If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.
All vehicles
  1. Remove the brake fluid reservoir.
    For additional information, refer to Brake Fluid Reservoir - 2.0L/2.3L/1.9L Diesel LHD in this section.
Vehicles with stability assist
  1. Disconnect the brake master cylinder electrical connectors.
All vehicles
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Cap the brake tubes to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress.
    Disconnect the brake tubes from the brake master cylinder.

  1. Remove the brake master cylinder.

Installation

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Before installing the brake master cylinder, make sure that the vacuum seal is in place and that the mating surfaces are clean.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
