Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Remove the brake master cylinder. For additional information, refer to Section  206-06 Hydraulic Brake Actuation.
Vehicles with anti-lock brakes
  1. Remove the hydraulic control unit (HCU). For additional information, refer to Section  206-09A Anti-Lock Control / 206-09B Anti-Lock Control - Traction Control / 206-09C Anti-Lock Control - Stability Assist.
Vehicles with stability assist
  1. Disconnect the brake booster electrical connector.
All vehicles
  1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster.

  1. Detach the brake booster actuating rod from the brake pedal.
    1. Remove the clip.
    1. Remove the rod.

  1. Remove the brake booster retaining bolts.
  1. Remove the brake booster.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the brake booster gasket is correctly positioned on the brake booster before installation.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
