Removal

  1. Remove the clutch disc and pressure plate. For additional information, refer to Section  308-01 Clutch.

  1. Using the special tool, remove the flywheel.
    • Discard the bolts.
  1. Drain the engine oil.
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Inspect the gasket of the drain plug for damage. Install a new gasket if damaged.
    Install the drain plug.

  1. Remove the oil pan.

  1. Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal carrier.
    • Discard the carrier.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new crankshaft rear oil seal carrier and a new gasket.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Do not coat the sealing lip with engine oil or grease.
    Install the crankshaft rear oil seal carrier.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The diameter of the bead of sealer must not be bigger than 3 mm.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Install the oil pan within five minutes of applying the silicon sealer.
    Apply silicon sealer to oil pan.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Let the silicon sealer dry for about 30 minutes after installation.
    Install the oil pan.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Do not bend the adapter plate.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new flywheel retaining bolts.
    Using the special tool, install the adapter plate and the flywheel.
    • Tighten the flywheel retaining bolts in two stages.
    1. Stage 1: 60 Nm
    1. Stage 2: 90 degrees
  1. Remove the special tool.
  1. Install the clutch disc and pressure plate. For additional information, refer to Section  308-01 Clutch.
  1. Fill the engine with engine oil.
