| Description and Operation The vehicle identification plate (VIN plate) is located in the engine compartment on the front body upper crossmember. The codes stamped on the VIN plate during production enable precise details of the vehicle build to be established. The VIN may also be seen through the left-hand side of the windshield. 2 - Front body upper crossmember The VIN is also stamped onto the body on the right-hand side floor panel.
