Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair
Front
1.
Raise and support vehicle.
2.
Remove wheel.
3.
Disconnect stabilizer bar link from lower control arm.
4.
Remove shock absorber.
5.
Remove steering center link from pitman arm.
6.
Compress coil spring with a suitable spring compressor, tool D-78P-5310-A or equivalent.
7.
Remove two lower control arm pivot bolts and disengage arm from crossmember.
8.
Remove spring from vehicle.
9.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque stabilizer bar to lower control arm nuts to 9---12 ft. lbs. Torque lower control arm to crossmember bolts to
120---140 ft. lbs.
