Blower Motor: Service and Repair

1982---88 

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Disconnect blower motor ground wire and the engine ground wire and position wiring aside.

3.

Disconnect blower motor lead connector from wiring harness hard shell connector.

4.

Remove blower motor cooling tube from blower motor.

5.

Remove blower motor retaining screws.

6.

Rotate blower motor slightly to the right so the bottom edge of the mounting plate follows the contour of the wheelwell splash panel. Then, lift
blower motor up and out of housing assembly.

7.

Reverse procedure to install.

SPEED CONTROLS 

1982---88 
Actuator Cable Adjustment

1.

Remove cable retaining clip.

2.

Deactivate the throttle positioner, as required.

3.

Set throttle plate in closed position.

4.

Pull the actuator cable to remove slack.

5.

While maintaining light tension on the actuator cable, insert the cable retaining clip.

Vacuum Dump Valve
    The vacuum dump valve is mounted on a moveable mounting bracket, Fig. 6. The valve should be adjusted so that it is closed when the brake pedal is
not depressed and opens when the brake pedal is depressed.
