Removal and Installation
Remove the instrument panel steering column cover. For additional information, refer to Section
501-12 Instrument Panel and Console
.
Remove the ignition lock cylinder.
Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder and turn to the ON position.
Push the ignition lock cylinder release button with a suitable tool while pulling out the ignition lock cylinder.
Remove the 3 screws and the lower steering column shroud.
Remove the PATS transceiver screw.
Remove the PATS transceiver.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
NOTE:
Replacement of the PATS transceiver does not require the PATS keys to be programmed into the powertrain control module (PCM) again.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
