| Description and Operation Brake System, Parking WARNING:Brake fluid contains polyglycol ethers and polyglycols. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. If brake fluid contacts eyes, flush eyes for 15 minutes with cold running water. Get medical attention if irritation persists. If taken internally, drink water and induce vomiting. get medical attention immediately. The parking brake system is cable operated and controlled by an independent hand-operated perking brake lever. The Parking brake system operates the rear drum and rear disc systems as follows; - On vehicles with rear drum brakes an independent hand-operated parking brake lever actuates the rear brake shoes direcctly through a cable system.
- On vehicles with rear disc brakes the parking brake lever activates the rear brake calipers through a cable and rear caliper lever with an integral cam. A pawl withion the rear brake caliper rotates the piston adjustment screw to compensate for pad wear.
