Removal

  1. Remove the clutch.
    • Immobilise the flywheel with Special Tool 21-135.
    • Slacken the bolts of the clutch pressure plate evenly.
    • Remove the clutch pressure plate with the clutch disk.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Mark the installation position.
    Remove the flywheel.
    • Remove the special tool.

  1. Extract the crankshaft seal.
    • Locate the special tool in position, make four evenly spaced holes, one at a time, and screw in the self-tapping screws.
    • Screw in the center bolt and remove the crankshaft rear seal.

Installation

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The seal must be pressed into Special Tool 21-141 as far as it will go.
    Fit the new crankshaft rear seal in the special tool.
    • To fit it correctly, place the special tool in a vice and press in the seal using the handle of a hammer.

  1. Fit the oil seal in the oil seal carrier.
    • Lubricate the sealing lip of the oil seal and the crankshaft running faces with engine oil.
    • Draw in the oil seal with the special tool and two flywheel bolts.
    • Remove the special tool.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Mark. Use new bolts.
    Fit the flywheel.
    • Immobilise the flywheel with Special Tool 21-135.
    • Tighten the bolts.
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Apply the high-temperature grease thinly enough so that when the clutch disk is fitted onto the transmission input shaft, no grease is squeezed out from the splines.
    Coat the drive splines of the clutch disk evenly with high-temperature grease .

  1. Center the clutch disk on the pressure plate.

  1. Fit the clutch.
    1. Locate the clutch pressure plate in position with the centered clutch disk.
    1. Tighten the bolts in several stages, a turn at a time, working diagonally.
    1. Remove the special tool.
