Removal and Installation Removal All Vehicles WARNING:Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related components. Disconnect the wiring harness from the throttle position (TP) sensor. - Remove the wiring harness retainer from the throttle body retaining stud bolt.

Remove the accelerator cable securing clip. | | -
Disconnect the accelerator cable from the bracket. - Rotate the quadrant.
- Lift the cable out of the bracket.

Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle quadrant. | Vehicles with speed control | -
Disconnect the speed control cable. | Vehicles built up to 1/1997 | -
Remove the accelerator bracket nut. | All Vehicles | -
Remove the accelerator mounting bracket. | | -

NOTE:If scraping is necessary, do not damage gasket surfaces or drop material into the manifold. Clean the throttle body and intake manifold mating surfaces and install a new gasket. | | -
To install, reverse the removal procedure. | |
