Starting System - Starter Motor—1.6L/1.8L/2.0L Mondeo 1997 (08/1996-09/2000)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Remove the MAF sensor.
    1. Disconnect the multiplug.
    1. Disconnect the pipe.
    1. Release the clips.
    1. Disconnect the multiplug.

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
    1. Remove the strap.
    1. Disconnect the clip.
    • Pull off the breather pipe.
  1. Raise the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Disconnect the starter motor.
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The engine ground cable is secured by one of the starter motor retaining bolts.
    Remove the starter motor bolts.
  1. Raise the vehicle.
  1. Remove the starter motor.

Installation
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
