303-08B Engine Emission Control - 2.5L > < Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve

Engine Emission Control - 1.6L/1.8L/2.0L - Exhaust Manifold to Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve Tube Mondeo 1997 (08/1996-09/2000)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the ignition coil pack. For additional information, refer to Section  303-07A Engine Ignition / 303-07B Engine Ignition.

  1. Disconnect the vacuum line from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the ignition coil suppressor.

  1. Remove the ignition coil suppressor.

  1. Cut the cable tie.

  1. Remove the EGR valve tube retaining bolt from the ignition coil pack mounting bracket.

  1. Remove the ignition coil pack mounting bracket.

  1. Disconnect the EGR valve tube from the exhaust manifold.

  1. Remove the EGR valve tube retaining bolt from the engine lifting eye bracket.

  1. Disconnect the EGR pressure transducer lines.

  1. Remove the EGR valve tube.
    • Discard the EGR valve tube.

Installation

NOTE:
NOTE:Install a new EGR valve tube.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
