Removal and Installation

Removal

All Vehicles
WARNING:
WARNING:Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and can ignite. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

  1. Release the clips and detach the MAF sensor.
Up to 97 MY
  1. Remove the air cleaner inlet pipe.

  1. Remove the rubber band and lift the assembly off the location grommets.
97 MY onwards
  1. Detach the air cleaner.
    1. Remove the air cleaner pipe.
    1. Remove the rubber band.
    1. Lift the assembly off the locating grommets.
All vehicles
  1. Remove the breather pipe.

Installation
  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and can ignite. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.
    Install the components in reverse order.
    • Ensure that the pegs are correctly fitted to the location grommets.
