NOTE:Prevent the piston rod from moving using a hexagon key. Undo the left-hand suspension strut nut five turns (right-hand side shown). | | -
Slacken the left-hand front wheel nuts (right-hand side shown). | | -
Remove the engine undershield (if fitted). | | -
Detach the left-hand front wheel. | | -
CAUTION:The inner tripode joint must not be bent more than 18 degrees, the outer one no more than 45 degrees. Undo the front axle driveshaft. | | -
CAUTION:The inner joint must not be bent more than 18 degrees, the outer one no more than 45 degrees. CAUTION:Do not damage the boots and the ABS sensor ring. Detach the left-hand stabiliser link rod and suspension lower arm ball joint (right-hand side shown). - Pull the left-hand front axle driveshaft from the transmission and tie up.

Remove the front axle driveshaft oil seal. | Installation | -
General notes. - Renew the self-locking nuts and snap-rings.

Install the front axle driveshaft oil seal. - Push home as far as it will go.

NOTE:Click the snap-ring into place. Front axle driveshaft installation position. | | -
CAUTION:The inner joint must not be bent more than 18 degrees, the outer one no more than 45 degrees. CAUTION:Do not damage the front axle driveshaft oil seal. CAUTION:The snap ring must clip into place. Fit the front axle driveshaft with a new snap ring. - Fit the oil seal installation sleeve.

Attach the left-hand front wheel. | | -
NOTE:Fill level is 0-5 mm below the bottom edge of the checking hole. | | -
Attach the left-hand front wheel. | | -
Attach the engine undershield (if fitted). | | -
Tighten the left-hand front wheel nuts (right-hand side shown). | | -
Tighten the left-hand suspension strut nut (right-hand side shown). - Counterhold using an Allen key.
- Tighten until finger-tight using a ring spanner.
- Tighten to specified torque using a torque wrench.
