Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Raise the vehicle and remove the right - hand front road wheel. For additional information, refer to Section  204-04 Wheels and Tires.

  1. Remove the engine splash shield.

  1. Remove the pulley splash shield.
  1. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Section  303-05 Accessory Drive.

  1. Disconnect the generator wiring.
    • Use a 50 cm extension bar and universal joint for the nut and a screw driver to release the clip of the connector.

  1. Disconnect the tie rod end.
    1. Remove the split pin/cotter pin.
    1. Remove the nut.

  1. Remove the generator rear support bracket.
    • Use a 50 cm extension bar and universal joint.

  1. Remove the upper generator mounting bolt.
    • Use a 70 cm extension bar and universal joint. Locate the bar between the gear shift rods and the body.

  1. Remove the lower generator mounting bolt.
    • Use a 70 cm extension bar and universal joint. Locate the bar between the engine sump and the intermediate exhaust pipe.

  1. Remove the generator through the wheel housing.

Installation
  1. Install the components in reverse order.
