Removing and Installing Roof Opening Panel - Mondeo 1997 (081996-092000)

Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the roof opening panel is in the closed position.
    Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  1. Remove the headliner. For additional information, refer to Section  501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation.

  1. Disconnect the drain tubes.

  1. Disconnect the roof opening panel electrical connectors.

  1. Remove the 12 retaining bolts.

  1. Remove the roof opening panel
    • With the aid of another technician to support the roof opening panel, compress the legs of the four retaining clips and lower the roof opening panel cassette.

Installation
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure the roof opening panel frame is correctly aligned in the roof aperture before tightening the 12 retaining bolts in the sequence shown.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Inspect the weatherstrip. Install a new weatherstrip if necessary.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
