Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.
Vehicles with automatic transaxle

  1. Remove the automatic transaxle selector lever trim panel.
Vehicles with manual transaxle

  1. Remove the gearshift lever boot.

  1. Remove the insulation pad.
All vehicles

  1. Remove the floor console side trim panels.
    1. Remove the retaining screw.
    1. Detach the retaining clips.

  1. Disconnect the yaw rate sensor electrical connector.

  1. Remove the yaw rate sensor left-hand retaining nut.
Vehicles with manual transaxle

  1. Disconnect the gear linkage and position to one side.
    1. Detach the gear linkage from the ball joint.
    1. Rotate the linkage through 90°.
All vehicles

  1. Remove the yaw rate sensor right-hand retaining nut.

  1. Remove the yaw rate sensor.
    1. Raise the yaw rate sensor off the locating stud.
    1. Rotate the yaw rate sensor.
    1. Remove the yaw rate sensor.

Installation

  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Do not use a damaged yaw rate sensor. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
    WARNING:
    WARNING:Install the yaw rate sensor with the direction arrow pointing towards the front of the vehicle. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The yaw rate sensor will be damaged if dropped.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
