Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the lower fascia/crash padding trim.
    1. Remove the screws.
    1. Detach the clip.

  1. Detach the clutch pedal switch.

  1. Remove the clutch pedal return spring bracket.
    • Remove the clutch slave cylinder retaining bolts.

  1. Detach the strut mount cap.
    • Detach the clips.

  1. Remove the strut mount reinforcement bracket.
    • Discard the nuts.
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The brake fluid reservoir cap must not become contaminated.
    Remove the brake fluid reservoir cap.
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.
    Using a suitable syringe, remove brake fluid from the brake fluid reservoir until the brake fluid level is at the MIN mark.
    • Install the brake fluid reservoir cap.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Close off the clutch master cylinder feed pipe to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress.
    Detach the clutch master cylinder feed pipe from the brake fluid reservoir.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Close off the clutch slave cylinder high-pressure pipe to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress.
    Detach the slave cylinder high-pressure pipe from the clutch master cylinder.

  1. Remove the clutch pedal together with the clutch master cylinder.

  1. Remove the clutch master cylinder.
    • Detach the clips.
    • Detach the feed pipe.

Installation

NOTE:
NOTE:Renew the strut cover nuts.
  1. Install the components in the reverse order.
  1. Bleed the clutch system.
