Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE:
NOTE:Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12F Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 2.2L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel, Removal and Installation).
    Refer to: Camshaft Seal (303-01G Engine - 2.2L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel, Removal and Installation).
    Refer to: Fuel Rail (303-04F Fuel Charging and Controls - 2.2L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel, Removal and Installation).
    Refer to: Fuel Injectors (303-04F Fuel Charging and Controls - 2.2L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel, Removal and Installation).

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that a new clamp is installed.

  1. Torque: 5 Nm

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that new bolts are installed.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Only tighten the bolts finger tight at this stage.

  1. Torque:
    Stage 1:
    5 Nm
    Stage 2:
    9 Nm

  1. Torque: 9 Nm

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Extreme cleanliness must be exercised when handling this component.
    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that all openings are sealed. Use new blanking caps.

  1. Torque: 9 Nm

  1. Torque: 8 Nm

  1. Torque: 22 Nm

  1. Torque:
    1 10 Nm
    2 8 Nm
    3 10 Nm

  1. Install a new gasket.
    Torque: 6 Nm

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. Material: Silicone Sealant

  1. Tighten the bolts in the sequence illustrated.
    Torque: 11 Nm

  1. When installing the old sensor.
    Torque: 4 Nm
  1.  
    • When installiung a new sensor.
    • Install the CMP sensor until the tip of the sensor touches the back of the camshaft pulley.
      Torque: 4 Nm
