Make sure that the transmission is not in emergency operation mode. | | | -
Make sure that the parking brake is fully applied. -
Start the engine. -
Move the transmission selector lever to all positions. In doing so, wait until the transmission engages the corresponding range. | | | -
Ensure that the gear oil temperature is 55 ± 2 °C. | Vehicles with diesel engine | | -
When the gear oil test temperature of reaches 55 ± 2 °C is reached, install the oil overflow plug if the gear oil continues to escape (1 mm thick stream of oil). | | | -
If no transmission fluid escapes, top up with transmission fluid until it does escape. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill (307-01 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle - Vehicles With: 6-Speed Automatic Transmission (AWF21), General Procedures). | Vehicles with 2.3L engine | | -
CAUTION:Use lint free cloth. CAUTION:The service reminder indicator (SRI) flashes if one of the service parameters has not been programmed. Adjust the oil level in the automatic transmission if necessary. Stop the engine. -
Disconnect the diagnostic tester. | |
