  1. Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
  1. Make sure that the transmission is not in emergency operation mode.

  1. Make sure that the parking brake is fully applied.
  1. Start the engine.
  1. Move the transmission selector lever to all positions. In doing so, wait until the transmission engages the corresponding range.

  1. Ensure that the gear oil temperature is 55 ± 2 °C.

Vehicles with diesel engine

  1.  
    • Transmission fluid must run out of the check bore.
    • Allow excess transmission fluid to drain from the transmission and from the rising tube.
  1. When the gear oil test temperature of reaches 55 ± 2 °C is reached, install the oil overflow plug if the gear oil continues to escape (1 mm thick stream of oil).
  1. If no transmission fluid escapes, top up with transmission fluid until it does escape.

  1. Torque: 8 Nm

Vehicles with 2.3L engine
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Use lint free cloth.
    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The service reminder indicator (SRI) flashes if one of the service parameters has not been programmed.
    Adjust the oil level in the automatic transmission if necessary.

All vehicles
  1. Stop the engine.
  1. Disconnect the diagnostic tester.
