Ford Mustang workshop manuals
Ford Mustang at a glance: 28 manuals, covering 1982 to 2012 models, with engines from 2.3 to 5.4 litres.
About the Mustang
Launched in April 1964, the Mustang created the "pony car" and is Ford's longest-running nameplate. More than 400,000 were sold in its first year. These manuals cover three generations: the Fox-platform car (1979–1993), the restyled SN95 (1994–2004, reskinned for 1999), and the retro-styled S197 from 2005.
What these manuals cover
- 1982–1987 (Fox): the 2.3-litre four, including the turbo, the 3.3-litre six, the 3.8-litre V6 from 1983, and the 5.0-litre V8, including the HO.
- 1995–2004 (SN95): the 3.8 and 3.9-litre V6s, the 5.0 V8 in the 1995 GT and Cobra, then the 4.6-litre Modular V8 from 1996, in SOHC GT and DOHC Cobra versions, including the supercharged 2003–2004 Cobra.
- 2005–2012 (S197): the 4.0-litre V6, the 4.6 three-valve V8 in the GT, the supercharged 5.4 in the Shelby GT500, and the new 5.0-litre "Coyote" V8 from 2011.
Tip: a 5.0 badge can mean two different engines. The 1982–1995 5.0 is the old pushrod V8, while the 2011-on 5.0 is the all-new four-cam Coyote, so pick the manual by year.
