Engine knock noise during stabilized engine operation on some vehicles may be caused by the #1 crankshaft main journal being slightly undersize and
can be serviced by installing a .0004" thicker upper main bearing (Part No. C3AZ-6333-R). The bearing is a new release and can readily be identified by
the blue dye at the edge of the bearing.
Use bearing fit procedure outlined in Section 21-01-17 of the 1983 Car Shop Manual.
