Vehicles, built prior to 6/20/85, that exhibit 3rd/4th gear rattle in the 3,000 RPM range may be serviced by the replacement of the clutch disc assembly.
The service clutch disc, E4ZZ-7550-A, is different than the disc installed in production and will normally resolve this concern. Refer to 1985 Car Shop
Manual, Volume D, Section 16-02 for servicing procedures.
