Drive Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair

1. Lift or rotate automatic drive belt tensioner away from drive belt, then remove drive belt.

CAUTION:  Do not allow drive belt tensioner to snap back, as damage to tensioner could result.

2. Remove tensioner bolt, then tensioner. 
3. Reverse procedure to install, noting following:  

a. Install new tensioner locating pin in bracket prior to and during tightening of tensioner bolt. 
b. Incorrect drive belt installation will cause drive belt failure. Ensure belt is properly installed before starting engine, otherwise belt damage will

occur.
