Child Seat Tether Attachment: Description and Operation

Tether Anchor Hardware

If tether anchorage hardware is required for the child safety belt anchor tether, anchor hardware kits can be obtained at no charge from any Ford or
Lincoln-Mercury dealer.

Attachment holes at each rear seating position have been provided in all vehicles.

Canadian Only

All vehicles built for sale in Canada include a tether anchor hardware kit for use with child's safety seats.

Some child's safety seats provide a tether strap which goes over the back of the vehicle seat and attaches to an anchorage in the floor or panel
behind the rear seat.

If a tether safety seat is used, place it in a rear seating position with the tether strap attached to the tether anchorage point.
