Removal and Installation
NOTE: The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON.
NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
1. Depower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering in the General
Procedures of Air Bag Systems.
2. Remove the clip and recline handle.
3. Remove the screw at the rear of the cushion side shield. Pull out on the side of the cushion side shield, release the retaining clips and pin-type
retainer and separate the side shield.
4. Disconnect the lumbar control switch.
5. Release the retainers and remove the lumbar control switch from the cushion side shield.
6. NOTE: Inspect the cushion side shield retaining clips for damage. Install new retainers if damage is present.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
