Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove fan wiring harness from routing clips.
2. Disconnect wiring harness from fan motor connector (pull up on single lock finger to separate connector).
3. Remove shroud retaining screws, then fan assembly from vehicle.
4. Remove retaining clip from end of motor shaft, then fan. A small metal burr may be present on motor after retaining clip is removed. Removal of

clip may be necessary prior to fan removal.

5. Remove fan motor to shroud retaining nuts, then fan motor from shroud.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Torque motor to shroud nuts to 48-62 in lb and shroud to radiator screws to 5.9-7.7 ft lb.
