Convertible Top Latch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Cycle folding top half-way down. Remove 13 screws retaining seal compression panel and remove seal compression panel.
2. Mark the front edge of the vinyl, where it wraps around the number one bow, with chalk.
3. Remove staples attaching vinyl to the number one bow. Start at outboard edge and remove staples about one third of the way across number one

bow.

4. Remove staples attaching stay pad to the number one bow.
5. Remove folding top hold down clamp by removing Torx(R) head pivot screw, Allen head slide screw and shoulder pin.

INSTALLATION

1. Apply Multi-Purpose Grease DOAZ-19584-AA or D7AZ-19584-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specifications ESR-M1C159-A and

ESB-M1C93-A to each pivot point.

2. Install folding top hold down clamp by installing shoulder pin, slide screw and the Torx(R) head pivot screw coated with Ford Threadlock and

Sealer EOAZ-19554-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G315-A5.

3. Line up chalk marks with the front edge starting at the number one bow and staple into place using 3/8 inch wide by 3/16 inch long staples and

staple gun.

4. Install seal compression panel using 13 retaining screws.
5. Cycle top to full up and down positions and check operation.
