Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Service and Repair
WARNING: BRAKE FLUID CONTAINS POLYGLYCOL ETHERS AND POLYGLYCOLS. AVOID CONTACT WITH EYES. WASH
HANDS THOROUGHLY AFTER HANDLING. IF BRAKE FLUID CONTACTS EYES, FLUSH EYES WITH RUNNING WATER FOR 15
MINUTES. GET MEDICAL ATTENTION IF IRRITATION PERSISTS. IF TAKEN INTERNALLY, DRINK WATER AND INDUCE
VOMITING. GET MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY.
CAUTION: Brake fluid is harmful to painted and plastic surfaces. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, immediately wash it with
water.
NOTE: The brake pressure control valve assembly is serviced as an assembly only.
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect all brake tubes from the brake pressure control valve assembly.
2. Remove nut that retains the brake pressure control valve on the frame.
3. Remove the brake pressure control valve from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the brake pressure control valve as an assembly on the frame. Install nut and tighten to 11-16 Nm (98-141 inch lbs.).
2. Connect all brake tubes to the brake pressure control valve assembly. Tighten the tube nut to 14-24 Nm (10-17 ft. lbs.).
3. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic System.
