pedal blade and hole just clearing pin. Slide stoplight switch completely onto pin. Be careful not to bend or deform stoplight switch. Install brake
master cylinder push rod spacer on pin, and secure all parts to pin with hairpin retainer. Make sure retainer is fully installed and locked over pedal
pin. Install wiring connector on stoplight switch.
5. Tighten four booster-to-dash panel retaining nuts to 21-28 Nm (16-20 ft. lbs.). Tighten brake pedal support bracket to cowl bolt to 19-26 Nm
(14-19 ft. lbs.).
6. Tighten brake tube fittings at brake pressure control valve to 14-24 Nm (11-17 ft. lbs.).
7. Connect fluid level sensor.
NOTE: If installing a new booster and not new hoses, one of the two tube nuts that comes with a new booster can be used for the third tube. Install
new Teflon washers (38889-S) to tube nuts being reused.
8. Connect power steering pressure hoses and power steering return hose to the hydro-boost power brake booster tubes. Tighten to 14-20 Nm (11-14
ft. lbs.).
9. Bleed brake system down to brake pressure control valve, including two bleeder screws on brake master cylinder. Refer to Hydraulic System -
Service and Repair.
10. If equipped with manual transmission, secure clutch release lever cable on L-bracket to brake master cylinder. Tighten screw to 6.8-9.2 Nm (61-81
inch lbs.).
11. Secure power steering tubes and hoses to routing bracket on brake master cylinder.
12. Connect battery ground cable.
13. Start engine and check power brake function.
14. Bleed hydro-boost power brake booster of air in the power steering fluid.
