Mustang Cobra V8-281 4.6L DOHC VIN V MFI (1997)
31. Install new oil pan gasket on oil pan and place on cylinder block. Install 12 oil pan bolts and tighten in two steps:
Step 1 ... Tighten to 20 Nm (14 ft. lbs.)
Step 2 ... Tighten an additional 60°.
NOTE: With crankshaft in this position, no piston will be at top dead center (TDC).
32. Rotate crankshaft to position as shown (keyway at 90° BTDC).
CAUTION: Crankshaft must only be rotated in the clockwise direction and only as far as TDC No. 1 or possible engine damage may occur.
