Crankshaft: Description and Operation
The crankshaft (6303) is:

supported on the bottom of the cylinder block (6010) by steel-backed, over-plated aluminum crankshaft main bearings (6333).

limited in end play and thrust loads by a steel-backed over-plated aluminum lower crankshaft thrust main bearing (6337) and crankshaft thrust
washer (6334) located in the No. 5 main bearing position.

connected to the exhaust camshafts by two crankshaft sprockets (6306) and two timing chains which provide a 2:1 drive ratio.
