Brake Lamp: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Open luggage compartment door and remove luggage compartment rear trim panel to gain access to four nuts retaining rear lamp.
2. Remove four nuts retaining rear lamp to body and remove from vehicle.
3. Disconnect lamp socket and wiring from rear lamp.
4. If lamp socket and wiring is to be removed, disconnect harness connector in luggage compartment.
5. Pull wiring grommet from body and guide lamp socket and wiring through opening in rear body panel.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
NOTE: To reduce the risk of water leaks into the luggage compartment, always use new retaining nuts every time the rear lamp is removed.
2. Make sure wiring grommet is fully seated in rear body panel. Tighten nuts retaining rear lamp to 5-7 N.m (45-61 Lb-In).
