Interior Light Switch: Service and Repair
Courtesy Lamp Switch
REMOVAL
1. Unscrew the hex sleeve nut from the pillar.
CAUTION: Courtesy lamp switch is retained to the wiring connector by one of three tabs positioned 120 degrees apart on the lamp switch. If,
when the lamp switch is disconnected from the wiring connector, the engaged locking tab breaks off, the lamp switch must be rotated 120 degrees
to engage a new tab. When all three tabs are broken, the lamp switch must be replaced.
2. Extract the lamp switch and pull the wiring connector off of the lamp switch.
INSTALLATION
1. To install the lamp switch in the pillar, pull the wiring connector and wiring through the switch mounting hole in the pillar.
2. Connect the lamp switch to the connector.
3. Twist wiring and lamp switch four turns counter-clockwise.
4. Push the wiring and connector back through the mounting hole and screw the lamp switch into the pillar until it is seated. Tighten to 14-19 N.m
(11-14 Lb-Ft).
5. Close and open door to make sure the interior lamps are operating properly.
