Mustang Cobra V8-281 4.6L DOHC VIN V MFI (1997)
REMOVAL
1. Remove safety belt anchor-to-sill bolt and rubber washer.
2. Slip finger behind D-ring cover and push bottom of cover toward center of vehicle to dislodge. Lift up to remove cover and remove retaining bolt.
3. Remove rear seat cushion and rear seat back cushions.
4. Remove the upper and lower quarter trim panels and unthread safety belt from slot in quarter trim panel.
5. Remove front retractor retaining bolt.
6. Remove the front safety belt retractor and tongue.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the front safety belt retractor and tongue.
2. Install the retractor retaining bolt. Tighten to 34-46 Nm (25-33 lb ft).
3. Insert safety belt through the slot in the quarter trim panel.
4. Install the upper and lower quarter trim panel.
5. Put a one-half twist in the safety belt webbing (clockwise on RH belt and counterclockwise on LH belt).
6. Install the safety belt anchor-to-sill retaining bolt and washer. Tighten to 34-46 Nm (25-33 lb ft).
