Shift Rail: Service and Repair
DISASSEMBLY
NOTE: The following procedure should be performed only when necessary. After carefully inspecting each subassembly, disassemble only those
requiring component replacement or further inspection.
1. Using Puller T58L-101-B, remove shift rail front bushing from rear of flywheel housing and discard
NOTE: Use caution not to gouge bushing bore when removing bushing.
2. Using suitable brass drift at rear of case, drive out shift rail middle bushing and discard.
3. Using a suitable brass drift at front of shift turret in extension housing, drive out shift rail rear bushing and discard.
ASSEMBLY
NOTE: Use only if shift rail bushings were removed. If bushings were not removed, proceed to Step 4.
