Crankshaft Main Bearing: Specifications

General 

Clearance

Desired:  0.027-0.065 mm (0.001063-0.002559 inch)
Allowable:  0.027-0.065 mm (0.001063-0.002559 inch)

Wall Thickness [1]:  1.920-1.928 mm (0.075590-0.075905 inch)

[1] For 1.27 mm (0.050 inch) undersize, add 0.635 mm (0.025 inch) to standard thickness.

Tightening Specifications 

Main Bearing Cap Bolts

1. Tighten new bolts one through ten in two steps as follows:

Step 1:  Tighten bolts in sequence to 37-43 Nm (28-31 ft. lbs.).
Step 2:  Rotate bolts in sequence an additional 85-95°.

2. Tighten adjusting screws No. 11-30 in sequence to 9-11 Nm (80-97 inch lbs.).
3. Tighten side bolts No. 21-30 in sequence to 19-23 Nm (14-17 ft. lbs.).
4. Check crankshaft end play in both directions as shown.
