Exhaust Pipe/Muffler Hanger: Service and Repair
Exhaust Pipe Hanger
Exhaust Hanger Insulators
REMOVAL
1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Support exhaust system with a suitable jack stand.
3. Remove exhaust hanger insulators from muffler pipe bracket and exhaust outlet pipe bumper bracket where necessary.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
Exhaust Outlet Pipe Frame Bracket
REMOVAL
1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Support exhaust system with a suitable jackstand.
3. Depending on application, remove exhaust hanger insulators from outlet pipe or pipes.
4. Remove exhaust outlet pipe frame bracket retaining bolt and exhaust outlet pipe frame bracket.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
NOTE: For ease of assembly, lubricate exhaust hanger insulators with Silicone Lubricant DOAZ-19553-AA or equivalent meeting Ford
specification ESR-M13P4A prior to installation of outlet pipe or pipes.
2. Tighten exhaust outlet pipe frame bracket retaining bolt to 15-20 Nm (11-14 ft. lbs.).
