Ignition Control Module: Service and Repair
Manual Transaxle
REMOVAL
1.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
3.
If equipped, remove the two speed control actuator mounting bracket nuts.
4.
If equipped, disconnect the speed control actuator connector. Position the speed control actuator aside.
5.
Disconnect the wiring harness mounting clip from the wiring harness mounting bracket and position the wiring harness aside.
6.
Disconnect the Ignition Control Module (ICM) connector.
7.
Remove the two fuel filler mounting bracket nuts and move the fuel filter to gain access to the Ignition Control Module (ICM) mounting screws.
8.
Remove two ICM mounting screws.
9.
Remove ICM from the strut tower.
INSTALLATION
1.
Install the Ignition Control Module (ICM) on the strut tower and install mounting screws and torque to 71-88 in. lb. (8-10 N-m).
2.
Position the fuel filter mounting bracket on the mounting studs and install nuts.
3.
Connect the ICM connector.
4.
Connect the wiring harness mounting clip on the wiring harness mounting bracket.
5.
Connect the speed control actuator connector.
6.
Install the two speed control actuator mounting nuts.
7.
Install the air cleaner assembly.
8.
Connect the negative battery cable.
