Transmission Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair
Transaxle Oil Temperature (TOT) Sensor.
Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the LH splash shield.
4. Position a drain pan under the valve body cover.
5. Loosen the valve body cover mounting bolts.
6. Allow any transaxle fluid to drain from the cover.
7. Remove the valve body cover mounting bolts and cover. Discard the gasket.
8. Disconnect the Transaxle Oil Temperature (TOT) sensor connector.
9. Use Transmission Oil Temperature Sensor Remover/Replacer T92C-77000-AH to remove the TOT sensor from the valve body.
Installation
1. Use TOT sensor Remover/Replacer T92C-77000-AH to install TOT sensor to the valve body.
2. Tighten the TOT sensor to 8-10 Nm (71-88 lb-in).
3. Connect the TOT sensor connector.
4. Install a new gasket on the valve body cover.
5. Install the valve body cover and tighten the retaining bolts to 8-10 Nm (71-88 lb-in).
6. Install the left hand splash shield and tighten the retaining bolts to 8-10 Nm (71-88 lb-in).
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Connect the negative battery terminal.
9. Fill the transaxle with specified ATF.
