Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair
LEFT SIDE
1.
Remove dipstick tube support bracket and heatshield retaining nuts.
2.
Raise and support vehicle.
3.
Remove exhaust manifold to front exhaust pipe attaching nuts, then lower vehicle.
4.
Remove exhaust manifold attaching nuts, then the manifold.
5.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Lightly lubricate bolts with suitable oil.
b. Tighten manifold attaching bolts to specifications.
c. Tighten heat shield attaching to specifications.
RIGHT SIDE
1.
Raise and support vehicle.
2.
Using back-up wrench on EGR tube lower adapter, remove EGR supply tube from exhaust manifold (if equipped).
3.
Remove spark plugs and heatshield retaining nuts.
4.
Remove manifold to exhaust pipe attaching nuts.
5.
Remove exhaust manifold attaching bolts, then the manifold.
6.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Lightly lubricate nuts and bolts with suitable oil.
b. Tighten manifold attaching bolts to specifications.
c. Tighten exhaust pipe to manifold attaching nuts to specifications.
d. Tighten EGR tube to specifications.
