Anti-Theft Alarm System – Up to 01/99

The alarm system can be set only by locking either front door with thekey or by the remote control transmitter. It cannot be set from the interiordoor handles or liftgate lock. The anti - theft/double locking control moduleis triggered by closing input circuit loops, therefore the alarm is unableto activate until all the input circuits are in a closed circuit position. This is achieved only once the doors, hood and liftgate are fully closed.

A liftgate alarm inhibit switch prevents the alarm sounding when openingthe liftgate with a key whilst the system is armed.

When the alarm is triggered, the alarm horn emits an intermittent signalfor a maximum of thirty seconds (in order to comply with certain legislation)and the hazard flashers will also operate for five minutes. The system remainsarmed after this and will be triggered again by any subsequent activation.

The alarm can be switched off only by unlocking one of the front doorswith the key or remote control.
